A Treehouse Elopement
Hailing from different countries, time zones and cultures, wandering spirits, Hana (originating from New York) and Max (originating from Ecuador) ambled into one another’s lives and have since taken on the world together. The two share an immense passion for gaining insights into new cultures and embracing new ways of life and experiences. As a writer, Hana uses her talent with words to discuss her journey to the new places she visits and the issues that affect people back home and abroad (at the time when Hana and Max contacted me about photographing their elopement, the two were even residing in Mexico!).

The Mohicans luxury treehouses
Located deep within a picturesque forrest, The Mohicans is a venue renowned for their luxury treehouses and stunning indoor and outdoor ceremony and reception spaces. Due to the nature of her work, Hana happened upon The Grand Barn at The Mohicans and intended to visit with the intent to write a piece on the venue. However, once The Mohicans realized that Hana was engaged, they graciously offered to host, plan, and showcase their elopement wedding at the venue, so she could write her piece from a first person point of view (amazing!).
The Mohicans careful planning coupled with the infusion of the Hana and Max’s personal tastes made for an idyllic wedding. Though the weather prohibited a ceremony under the stars, The Mohicans replicated that same ambiance with twinkle lights inside The Grand Barn. With the perfect setting and a ceremony that uniquely blended both Jewish and Ecuadorian elements, Hana and Max’s wedding was a beautiful reflection of each of them and their love of culture. Their first dance was even set to an Ecuadorian favorite of theirs which proved to be the ideal twirl-worthy tune that highlighted Hana’s vintage wedding dress seamlessly. Following their intimate ceremony, the couple enjoyed a once-in-a-lifetime fine dining experience served by a renowned private chef in their own cabin decorated uniquely for them. Witnessing Hana and Max’s special day was truly an honor.
Taking on the world with a once-in-a-lifetime kind of love
Although we only shared a few hours together, we left The Mohicans feeling as though we had made new friends. The passion and excited edge in Hana and Max’s voices as they spoke about their travels and experiences together was so inspiring, and we hope their elopement proved to be a top shared experience for them. We are so thankful to have been a part of such a special day and we hope your lives together are full of limitless adventures.
